What is a Regatta?

We proudly organize many regattas, ranging from 20 to up to 100 people. This type of charter is recommended for:

  • big friend or family group
  • team-building
  • business trips
  • as a reward for a company celebration

A “regatta”, by definition, is a racing competition between boats. When it’s not in a competing setting, they’re called a “tandem charter”, which simply involves renting multiple yachts that sail together in coordination. Having various boats following each other is an epic scene! 

This allows larger groups to be split in different boats and each boat follows the same route and anchors close to each other, so everyone stays connected. To simplify, we like to call them “regattas”.

Sailing Regatta

Sailing Regatta is renting only sailing vessels: catamarans or sailboats.

Enjoy the charm of the traditional way of navigating by sails and use the wind in your favour, while you relax on the deck!

  • Sailboats size are between 10-14 meters
  • Capacity between 7-12 people/boat, having lots of comfortable space.
  • Drinks, snacks, paddleboards are included as standard.
  • Ideal group size: 13-100 people.

Yachts Regatta

Yachts Regatta is the premium option of regatta for VIP guests.

Having a fleet of luxury motoryachts offers you the most exclusive experience in Marbella. Also, it offers us the flexibility to anchor in furthest anchor spots or even bring the guests to an exclusive beachclub.

  • Yachts size are between 12-30 meters.
  • Capacity between 9-12 people/yacht.
  • Drinks, snacks, paddleboards are included as standard.
  • Watertoys variety: depending on the yacht, it could have diverse watertoys onboard (jetski, seabobs, seascooter, donuts etc.)
  • Ideal group size: 13-70 people, to ensure a smooth charter and operations.

Recommended Time:

From 2 hours, 4 hours (half-day), 6 hours, up to 8 hours (full-day)

A regatta package includes: soft drinks, beers, water, rosé/white wine, snacks, fruit, paddle surf boards, snorkel and fishing equipment (other watertoys are included depending on the yacht), fuel, crew and speaker with bluetooth connection/ USB.

Extras you can add to your event: DJ, catering, jetski, wakeboard, banana, donut etc.

Regattas can be customized and adapted to meet the needs of your specific budget.

 

Steps to organize your regatta

Step 1: Define the Occasion and Guest List

Whether it’s a family reunion, an anniversary, team reward, or a company milestone celebration, clarify the event’s purpose and the number of attendees to ensure the boats meets your needs.

Step 2: Choose the Ideal Regatta Type

  • Sailing Regattas
Challenge your employees to a friendly sailing competition! Regatta competitions are often requested in winter time.
And if you don’t want a competition, it can simply be a relaxing tandem charter on sailing boats where everyone simply enjoys the amenities of the boat and connect with the sea. Sometimes, the best way to strengthen bonds is by simply relaxing together. Whether it’s enjoying a meal on deck, sailing at sunset, or stopping to swim in the Mediterranean, these leisurely moments foster deeper connections among people.
  • Luxury Regatta
A luxury motor yacht can offer both comfort and adventure. Yachts often feature sun decks, lounges, and water sports equipment, giving guests plenty of options for varied activities. If you’re looking for a VIP experience, definitely choose a luxury regatta on yachts.

Step 3: Plan Special Activities

  • Consider organizing a half-day charter if you fully want to enjoy the boats amenities and anchor at a beautiful anchorage where guests can swim, relax, and enjoy water sports.
  • Incorporate some fun water activities for some trill. The idea is to have fun! Many boats offer equipment for water sports like paddleboarding, kayaking, or jetskis.

Step 4: Plan the Logistics

Working with an experienced yacht charter company is essential for making sure all the logistics are handled smoothly.
Book in Advance: Yacht availability, especially for larger team-building events, may be limited, so try to plan and book early.
  • Catering:
    • Snacks and Light Lunches: Drinks and light snacks are included in a regatta. However if the charter is longer, we can offer fresh meals (like sandwiches or tapas), making sure we keep the guests energized throughout the day.
    • Customizable Menus: Many yacht charters offer the option to customize the menu, ensuring that dietary preferences or restrictions are accommodated.
  • Transportation to and from the Marina: Arrange convenient transportation from your accomodation/office to the marina. Costa del Sol counts with many transfer companies.
