FISHING TYPES
BOTTOM FISHING
What is bottom fishing? As one of the most traditional techniques, bottom fishing mainly involves placing a baited hook on the seabed while the boat is stopped, where different marine species live and come in search of food. With this type of fishing you have 95% success rate of catch.
In bottom fishing, the “chambel” technique is used — this consists of using two hooks per rod.
It’s ideal for catching a wide variety of species such as sardines, squid, snappers, sea bream, red scorpionfish, dentex, conger eels, etc.
Committed to environmental care, we practice responsible and sustainable fishing, keeping only permitted specimens. At the end of the trip, we’ll prepare your catches so you can enjoy them fresh, with that authentic taste of the sea.
During the experience, our expert crew takes care of everything: positioning the boat in the desired fishing area, using sonar to measure depth, setting up the bait, and handling the gear. Before starting, we also explain the parts of the rod and basic techniques, offering guidance and corrections so you feel comfortable at all times.
The charter includes the boat, professional fisherman, fuel, fishing equipment and bait, as well as drinks and snacks.
TROLLING FISHING
What is trolling fishing? This sport fishing technique involves dragging one or several lures or baits while the boat is moving.
As the boat cruises at a crusing speed, the lures mimic the movement of small fish or other prey, attracting predatory species that feed near the surface or in midwaters.
It’s ideal for catching large species such as tuna, mahi-mahi (dorado), yellow tail, marlin, swordfish, sea bass, bonito, or barracuda.
Trolling fishing in Marbella is especially popular due to the great diversity of species in the Mediterranean Sea. It is usually practiced in two ways:
-
Coastal trolling: for smaller species close to shore.
-
Deep-sea trolling: for larger catches in deeper waters — an 8-hour trip where we navigate along the natural migration routes of tuna schools. It’s an unforgettable day at sea, where you can encounter impressive specimens such as tuna, marlin, mahi-mahi, bonito, albacore, and many more. These fish are often large, weighing anywhere from 20 to 100 kilos (44 to 220 lbs).

🐟 Bottom Fishing – 2-Hour Trip
On the 2-hour bottom fishing trip, we sail about 2 nautical miles from the port — roughly a 15-minute journey. Once we reach the chosen spot, we drop anchor and the captain explains step-by-step how to cast the rod and properly set the bait.
During the activity, we use natural baits such as squid, shrimp, and sardines, perfect for attracting a wide variety of fish. Before finishing, we lift the anchor and enjoy a calm return to the port.🎣 Bottom Fishing – 4-Hour Trip (Recommended)
The 4-hour trip offers a more complete experience, giving access to deeper and more diverse fishing areas, located about 6 miles from the port and roughly 4 miles from the coast. The journey takes around 30 minutes of navigation, during which we use the sonar to locate the most active seabeds to ensure a good bite.
In these waters, you’ll find plenty of species such as snapper, bream, sea bream, black seabream, red scorpionfish, forkbeard, and dentex, among many others. The type of fishing practiced is bottom fishing with the boat anchored.🐠 Bottom Fishing / Trolling – 8-Hour Trip
The 8-hour trip is designed for passionate anglers looking to catch larger fish. It usually starts early in the morning, taking advantage of the day’s tides and the best sea conditions.
During the journey to the fishing zone — about 6 miles from the port — there’s a chance to spot tuna or other pelagic species and practice trolling before anchoring. Once we reach the selected area, the sonar is used to locate the most productive grounds, the anchor is dropped, and several setups are prepared: live bait rods and “chambel” rigs. -
We include the private boat, the professional fishing gear, professional fisherman and fuel.
